塑料:被稱為20世紀(jì)人類“最糟糕的發(fā)明”。基本上都是不可再生、不可降解材料制成的,其結(jié)構(gòu)穩(wěn)定,不能夠被天然微生物菌降解,在自然環(huán)境中長期不分離。對土地和海洋有非常大的危害,會改變土地的酸堿度,減少海洋生物的多樣性,影響農(nóng)作物吸收養(yǎng)分和水分和海洋吸收二氧化碳或產(chǎn)生氧氣的能力,導(dǎo)致農(nóng)業(yè)和水產(chǎn)品減產(chǎn),影響資源的可持續(xù)利用。而焚燒所產(chǎn)生的有害煙塵和有毒氣體,同樣也會造成對大氣環(huán)境造成污染。因此現(xiàn)在塑料的可回收利用是一件非常棘手的科學(xué)難題.

曾有人計算過,到2050年,海洋中的塑料可能會超過魚類總和。塑料,正在蠶食著人類和所有地球生物的生存環(huán)境。
微塑料:是指粒徑很小的塑料顆粒以及紡織纖維。現(xiàn)在在學(xué)術(shù)界對于微塑料的尺寸還沒有普遍的共識,通常認(rèn)為粒徑小于5mm的塑料顆粒為微塑料;對海水、土壤、甚至水中生物樣品中的微塑料進(jìn)行研究,獲得顆粒數(shù)量、粒徑分布、種類分布等數(shù)據(jù),是衡量某一區(qū)域微塑料污染程度的關(guān)鍵過程,同時也是研究塑料遷移等研究的基礎(chǔ)工作。在我們看不到的角落,其實奮戰(zhàn)著無數(shù)科研人員,為了人類和千萬生命寶貴的生存環(huán)境而堅持研究。

但是,要想統(tǒng)計浩大環(huán)境中“微觀”尺寸的顆粒談何容易?耗時費力,效率底下是多年來讓科學(xué)家頭疼不已,并嚴(yán)重影響科研進(jìn)程的大難題;如果能夠利用研磨儀來獲得塑料的納米級數(shù)據(jù)和微觀架構(gòu)就能有效的檢測出某一地區(qū)的微塑料污染情況。
塑料類制品的粉碎研磨一直是比較熱門的話題,環(huán)境保護(hù)中固廢處理的問題?“毒跑道事件”中塑膠跑道樣品的檢測?以及后續(xù)固體廢物的再生與治理等都是亟待解決的問題?無論是哪個議題,都離不開自上而下的樣品制備過程,而塑料本身的熱敏特性以及聚合物帶來的韌性與彈性,使得塑料的研磨是衡量研磨儀好壞的“標(biāo)尺”之一。

研磨實例:塑膠跑道和塑料杯的研磨
為滿足研磨在常溫下進(jìn)行,使用液氮預(yù)先脆化后再研磨, 將塑膠材料剪碎放入鋼罐中,把專用研磨珠加入鋼罐后把鋼管擰緊,然后把鋼罐放置液氮中泡制幾分鐘,把研磨儀相關(guān)參數(shù)調(diào)整完畢,最后把帶樣品鋼罐放入研磨儀里進(jìn)行研磨。
